Your Vision Into Reality
NVR

NVR is owned and operated by a highly skilled, siding expert with an extensive background in cedar repair, and vinyl installation.  If your house is 20 years or older and has cedar siding there is a good chance a protective house wrap was not used in the construction of your home.   House wrap most widely known as Tyvek made by DuPont is not a vapor barrier, this material is made to prevent moisture from passing through the membrane while simultaneously allowing the frame of your house to breathe. In typical wood construction the vapor barrier consists of the paper face of the fiberglass insulation that fill all cavities between studs, ceiling joists/trusses, and every other exterior cavities of your dwelling.   If your house was constructed without the use of a house wrap your siding is your first and only line of defense from the elements.   Deteriorated caulking, splits in cedar trim or clapboards, and improperly installed vinyl siding leave the exterior sheathing, as well as structural members of your house exposed to moisture.  These exposed portions of your home become saturated with water causing delamination of plywood, rot, mold, mildew, and are an open invitation to wood boring insects.  If you feel your home may be suffering the effects of being constructed without house wrap please contact NVR for a free evaluation of any concerns regarding the condition of your siding.   patrickgeddis@nvrohio.com
